A Classic Home Renewed: A Restoration Rooted in Trust and Timeless Materials

Some homes speak quietly, waiting for the right steward to listen closely and bring them back to life. This charming residence, untouched since its original construction, held decades of history in its walls. When a new family stepped in with vision and heart, we had the privilege of guiding its transformation—one rooted in craftsmanship, care, and a deep respect for both the past and future.

From the outset, this was a project about restoration with purpose. The home had never been renovated, and so we began by taking it down to the studs. We installed all-new plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, bringing the house gracefully into the 21st century. Given the age of the structure, we also brought in a specialist to test for lead and asbestos—commonplace in homes of its era—and partnered with a certified hazardous materials team to remove any concerns safely and responsibly.

With the structure sound, it was time to turn toward beauty. The client, working without an interior designer, leaned on our team to help shape their vision. We curated a finish list tailored to their tastes and lifestyle—elegant yet livable. In the kitchen, a dramatic 10-foot marble island serves as both a gathering point and a showpiece, complemented by subtle quartz countertops that line the surrounding walls. Custom rift cut white oak cabinetry, handcrafted to the client’s specifications, brings warmth and a sense of fine tailoring to the space.

Touches of old-world craftsmanship can be found throughout: Venetian plaster graces both the fireplace and the range hood, lending soft texture and quiet sophistication. On the floors, the client selected luxury vinyl plank—a practical choice we often recommend for busy families. It offers the rich look of hardwood with the added benefit of water resistance, perfect for kitchens, entries, and everyday living.

What made this renovation especially meaningful was the timeline. The homeowners had just purchased the house and dreamed of celebrating their first New Year’s Eve inside. We rallied our team and worked around the clock, ensuring every detail—from finishes to final inspections—was handled with care and efficiency. And we made it happen: the family rang in the new year in their newly finished home.

Since then, our relationship with the homeowners has only deepened. As they continue to dream and refine their space, they return to us for each new chapter. There’s something deeply rewarding about being called back—not just for more work, but as a trusted partner in the life of a home.

This was never just a remodel. It was a rebirth—with heart, history, and a commitment to thoughtful living at its core.
